A lawyer in Daytona Beach, Florida, Ted Doran serves as managing partner at Doran, Sims, Wolfe & Ciocchetti. Outside of his work as a lawyer, Ted Doran is a founding member of FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools, which sponsors a number of programs to improve local schools, including the Turn Around program.
The FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools Turn Around program forms part of the area’s drop-out prevention efforts and honors middle and high school students who have shown considerable improvement in several areas, as witnessed by teachers and guidance counselors. The program recognizes one student from each grade level for improvement in attendance, grades, citizenship, and attitude.
Students selected for recognition attend a celebration with their parents and have their names engraved on a plaque on display at their school. Through this program, FUTURES seeks to honor students who have rarely received recognition and reward them for their transformations.
